Greening Government Operations

Green Procurement:

The PPSC is focusing on four prospective areas for greening its procurement to reduce the environment impact on purchases: office supplies, office equipment and furniture.

Expected result: Environmentally responsible acquisition, use and disposal of goods and services.

  • Implementation of the Policy on Green Procurement (e.g., train acquisition card holder on green procurement; review and update internal contracting templates to ensure that current environmental considerations are included).

  • Copy paper, commercial printing and envelope purchases that meet the target objective as a percentage of total dollar value of all copy paper and envelope purchases, in the year in question.

Expected result: Implementation of a standard for all new leased multi-functional devices/copiers to incorporate energy-efficient criteria.
